The Song of The Redeemed
Rev 14: 1-5
Take Home Truth: God’s redeemed people have a reason to sing a new song in heaven.
Christ-Connection: Because He Loves us and is for us, God provided Jesus as the Sacrifice for our redemption. Jesus gives us the reason to sing!
Hook:
- Why does God use recapitulation (telling the same story over and over again) in the book of Revelation? What opportunities exist for misinterpreting the truths presented in Revelation?
Engage:
- As a group, re-read Revelation 14: 1-6. Discuss the 144,000 who had the Father’s name on their foreheads. Who are they? Where are they? What are they doing?
Reflect:
- Richard spent some teaching time on the character of those who make it to heaven. What does it mean to be “God-applauding”? What does applauding God look and sound like in heaven? What should it look like on earth?
- What are the other characteristics of those who make it to heaven, according to this passage?
Respond:
- How does the truth of Revelation 14: 1-5 inform your view of:
- Heaven
- Unbelievers
- The Christian Life
- Worship
- What changes in your life (habits, desires, worship, prayers) does this passage lead you towards?
