The Song of The Redeemed

Rev 14: 1-5

Take Home Truth:  God’s redeemed people have a reason to sing a new song in heaven.

Christ-Connection:  Because He Loves us and is for us, God provided Jesus as the Sacrifice for our redemption.  Jesus gives us the reason to sing!

Hook

  1. Why does God use recapitulation (telling the same story over and over again) in the book of Revelation? What opportunities exist for misinterpreting the truths presented in Revelation?

Engage:

  1. As a group, re-read Revelation 14: 1-6.  Discuss the 144,000 who had the Father’s name on their foreheads.  Who are they?  Where are they?  What are they doing?

Reflect:

  1. Richard spent some teaching time on the character of those who make it to heaven.  What does it mean to be “God-applauding”?  What does applauding God look and sound like in heaven?  What should it look like on earth?

  1. What are the other characteristics of those who make it to heaven, according to this passage?

Respond

  1. How does the truth of Revelation 14: 1-5 inform your view of:
    1. Heaven
    2. Unbelievers
    3. The Christian Life
    4. Worship

  1. What changes in your life (habits, desires, worship, prayers) does this passage lead you towards?
