“Saved from the Dragon’s Flood”

Revelation 12:13-17

Take-Home Truth: God provides grace and mercy for His children to overcome the deluge of Satan’s lies.

Christ-Connection: God moved heaven and earth to defeat our enemy on the cross!

Hook: (Ice-breaker question. Get the group talking!)

1. Have you ever been caught in a flood? Describe your experience to the group.

Engage: (Observe the passage and engage with the text)

2. What is the result of Satan being cast out of heaven (v. 13)?

3. What is the meaning of each of the following metaphors in the passage?

    • “the woman was given two wings” –
    • “the serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth” –
    • “the earth came to the help of the woman” –

Reflect: (Reflect upon the key take-aways from the sermon)

4Richard said, “The greatest battle in culture is ultimately about truth.” Deception is the tool of Satan’s trade. Discuss the lies you hear and then strategies for discerning truth versus lies.

Respond: (Apply the truths of God’s Word to your heart, affections, and actions)

 5. God will move heaven and earth to defeat our enemy and preserve our faith. How have you experienced this and how does this encourage you?

6. God walks with us as we navigate difficulties, and Satan whispers lies in our ears. The following verses remind us of God’s nearness during these times. Read them as a group, discuss other scriptures that comfort you, and add yours to fill out the week.

    • Monday – Isaiah 43:2
    • Tuesday – Psalm 91:1
    • Wednesday – Luke 12:27
    • Thursday – Psalm 23:4
