Recap: Look back for evidence of God’s word reshaping your heart and life. Does anyone have a testimony to share how you applied last week’s “Respond” section? Engage: Look into the Word of God in light of Sunday’s preached sermon. Read Acts 21:1-36 together as a group and discuss your initial observations. With it being a longer text, it may help to split it into two sections (1-16 and 17-36) for the discussion. Reflect: Look deeper at the preached and written Word. Section 1: Acts 21:1-16 Why would the Holy Spirit reveal that suffering awaits Paul while also directing Paul toward Jerusalem? Is there actually a contradiction? What does this passage teach us about the relationship betweenlove for other Christians and faithfulness to Christ? If Christian discipleship is meant to happen in community, what relationships do you currently have where other believers can actually see your life, speak into your decisions, and help you follow Christ? Section 2: Acts 21:17-36 Why do you think the Jerusalem believers were so concerned about Paul’s reputation among Jewish believers? What currently has the greatest potential to “break” you from the assignment God has given you—comfort, fear, relationships, finances, reputation, busyness, or something else? Why do you think Luke drew so many parallels between Paul and Jesus in their arrivals to Jerusalem? Respond: Choose one or two application steps from Sunday’s message and make a plan of action. Pursue Christ faithfully even when obedience becomes costly.Identify one area where comfort, fear, or convenience is keeping you from obedience, and take one concrete step of faithfulness this week. Submit your plans to God’s will. Bring one significant decision before the Lord in prayer this week, asking not merely for the outcome you want but, “Let the will of the Lord be done.” Deepen your commitment to Christian community. Invite another believer into your home or schedule intentional time together this week for the purpose of encouragement, prayer, or spiritual conversation. Choose unity over personal preference. Identify one preference, liberty, or personal convenience that you could willingly surrender this week for the sake of loving and serving another Christian.
