Recap: Look back for evidence of God’s word reshaping your heart and life. Does anyone have a testimony to share with the group of how you applied last week’s “Respond” section? Engage: Look into the Word of God in light of Sunday’s preached sermon. Read Acts 2:41-47 as a group and discuss your initial observations. Reflect: Look deeper at the preached and written Word. How can we cultivate a deeper love and devotion for God’s Word in our daily lives, and what practical steps can we take to prioritize ‘sitting under the teaching of the word of God every Sunday’? How should the biblical understanding of “Christian fellowship (koinonia)” change our preconceived idea of what fellowship is, beyond simply attending church services? What are some practical ways we can ‘preach the gospel to ourselves’ daily, and how might this practice impact our spiritual growth and ability to overcome sin? How can we foster a church culture that is truly devoted to meeting one another’s needs, as described in the passage? How can we ensure that our participation in the Lord’s Supper remain meaningful and not rote? What might it look like for our church to have ‘favor with all people’ in our current cultural context, while still maintaining biblical integrity? Respond: Choose one or two of the following applications of Sunday’s message and commit to it/them this next week. In what ways can we as individuals and as a church body become more intentional about sharing the gospel ‘day by day’, leading to regular conversions as seen in the early church? As a group, write down some names of people who you would like to be intentional in sharing the gospel.
