Christ-Connection: John prepared the hearts of the people for the coming of the Messiah. Recap: (Talk about last week) Based on last week’s discussion, how have you identified and moved away from spiritually dangerous settings in your life? Engage: (Observe the passage and engage with the text) Read and discuss the unlikely unfolding of God’s plan in Luke 1:5-25. Reflect: (Reflect upon the key take-aways from the sermon) Zechariah’s response to God’s word to him was to doubt. When are we most likely to respond to God with the same attitude? When might we be quick to respond in faith? Zechariah’s response in 57-66 was to be faithful, in spite of his silence. At what point did his mouth open? How did the people respond?
