4 Fundamentals of Living on Mission

Act 16:16-32

Take Home Truth:  Believers are called to live on mission every minute for the rest of their lives in all of their encounters.

Christ-Connection:  Because of Christ we have been given the ministry of reconciliation – God making his appeal through us, for all to be reconciled to God.

Hook: 

1. Discuss a time when you had a tough conversation with another person on a sensitive topic.

Engage: 

2. As a group, re-read Acts 16:16-32. Is there a time when you intended on sharing the message of the Gospel? Is there a time you when you were not intending to share the message of the Gospel, but the encounter presented itself?

Reflect: 

3. Phud’s first Fundamental of Living on Mission was to live a Holy Spirit filled Life. Read Ephesians 5:18 and 3:18-19; now reflect on what this means and how we can live it.

4. Read 2 Timothy 3:12, which describes Phud’s second point of Fundamentals of Living on Mission. Are you prepared to embrace this reality? Have you ever experienced persecution? How does this make you feel?

5. 1 Corinthians 10:31 is Phud’s third point for Fundamentals of Living on Mission. Does this only apply in a Gospel encounter? Where in the mundane parts of our lives are we not living to the Glory of God?

6. Phud’s fourth point is that evangelism should naturally happen through us. Read Matthew 18:18-20; how does the sovereignty of God enter this picture? Is there an example in your life of someone who did or does live this out well?
