Christ, the Faith Preserver
February 5, 2023Christ, The Faith Preserver
Take-Home Truth: Our faith will be tested and we might come up short, but we have an Advocate and Protector.
Christ-Connection: In the daily battles we face, Christ’s intercession for us is constant and sure.
Hook: (Ice-breaker question. Get the group talking!)
- Tell of a time when you agreed quite confidently to do something new, however, it didn’t turn out the way you anticipated.
Engage: (Observe the passage and engage with the text)
- Read Luke 22:31-34. Discuss the interaction between Jesus and Peter. How or why are their perspectives different?
- Read Luke 22:54-62. What do you think Jesus communicated with His look?
Reflect: (Reflect upon the key take-aways from the sermon)
- In verse 31, Jesus gives Peter a warning of a coming spiritual battle in his life. Why is it important for us to heed this same warning?
- How did Peter handle his denial of Jesus? What led to his recovery (verse 32)?
Respond: (Apply the truths of God’s Word to your heart, affections, and actions)
- When you’re in a difficult situation, how might people recognize you’re a Christ follower?
- When the reality of your faith stings and is not what you anticipated, how does knowing that Christ is always interceding for you take the sting out?
- How are you encouraged by the knowledge that when Christ prays for you His answer is always yes?
